Murphy Machinery to launch Evrard sprayer at FTMTA show

At this year’s Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) Farm Machinery Show, Murphy Machinery will launch the Evrard self-propelled sprayer. Evrard comes to Murphy Machinery from the Exel Industries Group – well known in precision spraying equipment across the agricultural industry. The group owns brands that have a long and distinguished presence in the Irish market such as Berthoud, already distributed by Murphy Machinery and Tecnoma, distributed by Agriquip.
The Evrard self-propelled sprayer, which will be on display at the Murphy Machinery stand, comes from a company with a long association of manufacturing self-propelled sprayers. Evrard’s story began in 1952, when Aime Evrard designed spraying equipment that could be adapted to a jeep, meeting the specific needs of local farmers. In 1972, Evrard created the first French self-propelled sprayer the OR4000, which had a 4,000L tank capacity and a 36m boom.
From that rich history of innovation comes the Evrard Vega, designed to meet the needs of today’s farmers as closely as possible, prioritising reliability and robustness, the company says, and capable of withstanding the most demanding conditions.
Today’s Vega self-propelled sprayer was subjected to unique endurance testing at the Cetim in Beauvais. This is the French technical centre for mechanical industries and one of the largest industrial research organisations in Europe. Machine performance and comfort are to the fore in the newly designed machine allowing the operator to work faster with enhanced filling, product incorporation, and final rinsing all allowing for greater autonomy. Spray quality is measured in terms of impact density and coverage rate. Evrard says it believes that enhancing operator comfort and reducing fatigue were strategic requirements of this newly designed machine. Murphy Machinery invites you to see this self-propelled sprayer at the show, where it will also showcase the extensive range of Berthoud sprayers.
