New grassland kit from PÖTTINGER

Noel Dunne travelled to Grieskinchen in northern Austria with Pöttinger to see the latest additions to the 2026/2027 grass and tillage ranges. Here, he highlights some of the grass-related options, while next month, the tillage range will be featured, including a new manoeuverable rake coming on the market in 2027, which will be of great interest to Irish farmers

Pöttinger recently launched a smaller loader wagon range in the rotor class, the eight-model Profi 5000. Its floating pick-up conserves the sward, reduces dirt intake, and prevents tine wear. It is equipped with up to 31 knives, each 4mm thick, capable of achieving a chop length of 45mm. These metrics enable smooth and efficient running while using less power. Now, as standard, the machine is equipped with the Easy Move swing out knife bank with central knife-release system making maintenance quick and fast. An automatic loading system is now standard on the new Profi 5000.

The updated NovaCat T trailed mower is a highly flexible robust mower that has a low horsepower requirement. It has perfect ground tracking for tidy mowing and with a fully movable suspension on the cutter bar it is an ideal machine for bumpy, uneven ground. The mowers are supported by their own chassis, are available with a working width of 4m, and the cutting height can be adjusted from the driver’s cab. The mower is available with various tine and roller conditioners making it very versatile.

Aimed at the farmer market, the new five-model Boss 5000 Master wagon will be available in five sizes from 29m3 to 45m3 and has a 5 per cent larger loader chamber capacity. The larger wagons have a pick-up width of 2.1m, while the standard machine’s pick-up width is 1.8m. It has new, larger tyres to aid soil conservation. Its Evomatic loading system consists of four conveyor tine elements and achieves 25 per cent greater loading performance compared to the previous design. An Easy Move swing out knife bank is also an optional extra on the 16- and 31-knife bank models.

There have been some digital upgrades to the NovaCat V 10000 ED/RC Collector mowers. Auto swath placement ensures that these mowers along with cross conveyor belt systems deposit the forage crop more evenly than before. This system leads to 40 per cent less raking, lower fuel consumption, larger swathes, and larger turning circles on headlands.
