Farmhand to unveil pioneering self-propelled fertiliser spreader

The brand new, never-seen-before, AmaTruck is an exciting project designed by Farmhand demonstrator, Declan Smyth.
Be sure to see this epic machine, the AmaTruck, in person at the Ploughing.

This self-propelled high-speed spreader is a bespoke-build combining the Amazone ZG-TS 10 tonne (t) fertiliser spreader with a 330hp 6X6 Mercedes Acros truck.
It will be unveiled for the first time at Ploughing 2023, before it embarks on a demo tour next spring.
Declan explains: “I have had the idea since Amazone started offering the ZG-TS spreader as a de-mount option. We modified the truck to mount the Amazone ZG-TS 10t spreader, including changing out the standard wheels to 600/50/22.5 on the rear for low ground pressure and 445/65/22.5 on the front for extra traction. As the spreader is a hydro drive, new hydraulics were fitted, along with new wiring looms to power the state-of-the-art Amazone spreading technology. It’s been an exciting project from start to finish.”

Special edition of world’s largest forage harvester to feature at Ploughing

The National Ploughing Championships (the Ploughing) will see Farmhand deliver its most exciting machinery display yet, which is no small feat when you consider previous years have included some of the largest agricultural machinery in the world perched on sky-high platforms.
Continuing this theme, a special edition of the world’s largest forage harvester, Krone’s
BiG X 1180 will visit Ratheniska this month. Kindly loaned to Farmhand by Hillcrest Farms and sporting custom paintwork, this Krone harvester represents a machine that has proven to be hugely popular with contractors throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. The most powerful harvester in the world also boasts exceptional fuel efficiency that easily copes with heavy lumpy crops even in the most demanding conditions, according to Farmhand.
Other machinery on display will include the Amazone ZA-V mounted GPS section control spreader, Krone rear-mounted mowers, front linkages and PTOs from Zuidberg, Q-Series front loaders from Quicke and the latest addition to the range of brands available from Farmhand, Flexxaire reversible fan systems. These fan systems solve the problem of dirty, clogged up radiators.

Fastparts

Fastparts will also be attending the Ploughing with a wide display of implements and attachments. New for 2023 is the Quicke Silocut L+, a multifunctional shear grab for cutting silage from the pit and splitting bales. The L+ is designed specifically for wheeled loaders or telehandlers. Alongside the existing models already available: M+ for front loaders and mid-size telehandlers, and the high-capacity XL+ for large telehandlers and wheel loaders, the addition of the new L+ range means there is a Quicke implement suited to every type of machine. As well as Quicke, the Fastparts stand will include a display of the Rakeman tine harrows. Available in 1.5m and 3m the Rakeman is perfect for rejuvenating grass growth, levelling ground and reseeding. The Ploughing will also be the perfect opportunity to view the full range of Dromone Ball & Spoon hitches, APV Grassland equipment, and Broomex Brush Brooms.
