Dawn Meats Charleville has been given approval by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to export Irish beef to the US. Dawn Meats' Charleville facility is the third processing facility in Ireland to gain approval, following the decision by the US government to lift a 15-year ban earlier in 2015.

ICSA lobbies for beef data and genomics programme changes

Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers' Association (ICSA) representatives have met with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to lobby for greater flexibility in the new Beef Data and Genomics Programme and to insist on the removal of potentially severe penalties for aspects of the requirements which are outside of farmers' control.
