Carbery Group reports increase in earnings

Carbery Group, the west Cork-based manufacturer of value-added ingredients, flavours and cheese, has reported its results for the year ended December 31, 2016. The Group has reported an increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amotisation (EBITDA) to €37m on turnover of €340m for 2016.

Landmark beef export protocol signed by Ireland and China

A number of important advances have been made in the development of Irish exports of beef, seafood and thoroughbred horses to China. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, met with Minister for Chinese Quarantine and Inspection Service, Zhi Shuping (today, April 18), marking the second formal bilateral meeting between the two men.

IFA meet with chief Brexit negotiator in Brussels

An IFA delegation led by president Joe Healy met with the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier in Brussels this week. The IFA president set out the IFA's Brexit priorities as outlined in the recently launched policy document, Brexit: The Imperatives for Irish Farmers and the Agri-food sector.

Bord Bia’s trade mission to the Middle East in February was deemed ‘a fantastic success’ by chief executive Tara McCarthy. Speaking to Matt O’Keeffe, who was also in attendance, Tara described the five-day mission as a great opportunity to discuss Bord Bia’s business development plans and the Origin Green story with other delegates during the different trade-mission engagements.
