Cainthus, the Irish dairy technology startup, has announced the appointment of Aidan Connolly as its new CEO to replace David Hunt.
Connolly previously held the position of head of innovation at agri-tech company Alltech. He has also been in investor and advisor at Cainthus for a number of years as well as serving as chairman of the board.
Commenting, Connolly stated: “This was a very big decision for me to make, and I needed to make it now as Cainthus is at an inflection point in the development of its business. And I really feel that this company is one out of a very small handful of agritech startups that could truly reach a $1 billion valuation.”
Cainthus uses a smart camera system to collect and process key animal and dairy farm performance indicators – such as water intake, feed intake, feed time consistency, body conditioning score and sifting and sorting – in an effort to improve the farm’s overall profitability.
David Hunt, who is a co-founder of Cainthus, will remain at the company as its president.
